李克勤現(xiàn)為湖南大學信息科學與工程學院博士生導師，院學術(shù)委員會主席，超級計算與云計算研究所所長。他1985年畢業(yè)于清華大學，獲計算機科學學士學位；1990年畢業(yè)于休斯頓大學，獲計算機科學博士學位。之后受聘于紐約州立大學，歷任助理教授、副教授、正教授；2009年晉升為紐約州立大學講席教授；2011年被聘請為清華大學高智講座教授。他在學術(shù)著作、研究期刊、和國際會議上共發(fā)表論文290篇以上。他在網(wǎng)格網(wǎng)絡(luò)的處理器分配和作業(yè)調(diào)度以及光網(wǎng)絡(luò)上的并行計算方面的開創(chuàng)性研究具有廣泛和深遠的影響，為他帶來了崇高的學術(shù)聲譽。他具有重大國際聲譽和影響，在世界范圍內(nèi)有20多個合作研究團隊和超過150位合作研究人員。
